Brie Bella Biography
Brie Bella is one-half of the professional wrestling tag team known as The Bella Twins. She and her sister, Nikki, are working for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), and wrestle on its SmackDown brand. In addition to that, they train with its developmental facility, Florida Championship Wrestling. The twins were born on November 21, 1983 in San Diego, California, as Brianna and Nicole Garcia. Of Mexican and Italian descent, their family raised them in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Before taking an interest in wrestling, Brie Bella and her sister played soccer until college. Afterwards, they decided to take on modeling, acting and doing other promotional work. The Bella Twins have made appearances across the country, making themselves known in various trade shows and several international magazines. On television, they’ve been seen on the Fox reality show Meet My Folks. It was there that they were discovered, and later hired to be the World Cup Twins for Budweiser. They were also photographed holding the World Cup trophy. In 2006, they participated in the “International Body Doubles Twins Search,” and soon set their minds on wrestling.
In 2007, the Bella Twins were signed to developmental contracts with the WWE and were assigned to Florida Championship Wrestling. They debuted in FCW in September, competing in a series of tag team matches against Nattie Neidhart and Vitoria Crawford. Part of their on-screen persona was switching places behind the referees back when one twin was hurt. Later that year, they began managing Derrick Linkin but he was released in 2008.
In August, Brianna debuted as Brie Bella in SmackDown, and soon defeated Victoria. She picked up a win on November, but ran under the ring to escape Natalya and Victoria. They reached for Brie, but pulled out both twins who attacked them and celebrated afterward. Nikki Bella was then introduced.
She and her sister had their first official tag team match on November 21, 2008 in SmackDown, defeating Victoria and Natalya. They later developed on-screen relationships with Carlito and Primo Colon but this was challenged by John Morrison and The Miz in 2009. They won a match to date the Bella Twins, but Primo and Carlito tried to sabotage it.
